About This Service

Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology services are available to treat and manage gynecologic conditions affecting children and adolescents (21 years and younger). From ovarian cysts in the neonate to problems with puberty or difficulties with periods, we are here to address any gynecologic concerns and medical conditions that may impact your child.

The Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology care team is comprised of nationally recognized and subspecialty trained pediatric and adolescent gynecologists who follow treatment guidelines provided by The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and The North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. We use the latest technology to deliver specialized procedures and offer personalized treatment options with a focus on increasing your child’s overall quality of life.

Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology is committed to providing a multifaceted continuum of care, coordinating patient care with referring physicians and other care team members to ensure patients receive the highest level of specialized care and experience a seamless transition from pediatric to adult care. For patients 13 years of age and older, Obstetrics and Gynecology services are also available through a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin.

Treatment Approach

Pediatric and adolescent gynecologists are board-certified obstetrician-gynecologists who have completed subspecialty training in pediatric and adolescent gynecology and minimally invasive surgery in children. The Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology care team provides routine gynecologic care as well as treatment for abnormalities of female development, puberty, minimally invasive surgery in children, and other gynecologic disorders, such as adnexal masses.

Patients are cared for by a dedicated multidisciplinary care team, meaning families will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines. Our subspecialty-trained pediatric and adolescent gynecologists have extensive experience and work alongside a team of pediatric experts, including advanced practice providers, dietitians, social workers, child life specialists, and more, providing unparalleled care for patients and their families every step of the way. We are dedicated to an uncompromising quality of care and work with you and your family to ensure the best possible outcome for your child.

If a higher level of care is needed to treat your condition, we work in partnership with other providers, including gynecologic oncologists, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons, pelvic floor physical therapists, urogynecologists, and pediatric psychiatrists, for the management of complex conditions and needs.

We also collaborate with our colleagues at the Dell Medical School and The University of Texas at Austin to utilize the latest research, diagnostic, and treatment techniques, allowing us to provide comprehensive, coordinated care designed to meet your specific needs.
