Sarah McNamara, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a licensed adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner in the Institute for Cardiovascular Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. With extensive experience in cardiothoracic intensive care, high-acuity cardiology, and interventional cardiology, she specializes in adult ­­­cardiothoracic surgery and cardiovascular medicine. Additionally, Sarah McNamara is an associate professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care at The University of Texas at Austin.

Sarah McNamara earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing, graduating magna cum laude, from Baylor University and her master’s degree in nursing with a focus in adult-gerontology acute and critical care from Maryville University.

Sarah McNamara is committed to delivering excellent patient care and fostering an accessible environment for all patients. Her research focuses on the cost-effectiveness of medications and their long-term benefits. She is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
