Nasim Hedayati, MD, MAS, DFSVS, FACS, is a board-certified vascular surgeon in the Institute for Cardiovascular Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension and UT Health Austin. She specializes in abdominal aortic aneurysm, carotid artery disease, dialysis access, peripheral arterial disease, and venous disease. Additionally, Dr. Hedayati is a Professor of Surgery in the Dell Medical School Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Hedayati earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School and her master’s degree in advanced study from UC Davis School of Medicine. She completed both an internship and residency in general surgery at Case Western Reserve University. She completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Dr. Hedayati formerly served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at Sacramento VA Medical Center and Professor of Surgery at the University of California, Davis. She currently serves as an Editor for the Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders. Her research focuses on the outcomes of endovascular and open interventions for peripheral arterial disease, the treatment of venous disease using the Vascular Quality Initiative database, and the use of stem cell therapies for critical limb ischemia. She is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Vascular Surgery, and the American Venous Forum. She is a distinguished fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the American Venous Forum.
