Clinical Biography

Maira Souza, BSN, RN, CPN, CCRN-K, is a licensed registered nurse and serves as a Nurse Navigator for the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in caring for infants, children, and adolescents with heart diseases and defects.

Maira Souza earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás in Goiás, Brazil. She also earned both her pediatric nurse certification and her critical care registered nurse certification.

Maira Souza serves as a parish nurse, also known as a faith community nurse, at Primeira Igreja Batista Brasileira em Austin.
